Trees please trees

Ok so I’m already on year 2 winter but I’m still unsure about the trees. Specifically:

  • do we need to even water them at all or do we only need to water them in the initial stages of growing?

  • if we DO need to water them in the initial stage of growth (or at all I guess) do we need to water the whole 3x3 space the tree takes or just the one space in the middle?

  • does watering the trees effect how quickly fruit will grow/replenish?

  • Do you keep watering the trees that will bear fruit in certain seasons? Even when they are already grown?

I guess I’m just really trying to see if I need to waste energy on water the trees when I’d rather do that for my crops. Thank you very much for any answers/advice!
